Renovation Complete ! The Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library is proud to announce that construction on its expansion and renovation project is now complete. In early May we will be moving into the newly renovated areas completed during Phase III of the project. We invite all citizens of Kinston and Lenoir County as well as visitors to visit the Library and explore the new facilities. It is very exciting to see our shared dream of a beautiful new library facility become a reality. BOOK SALE The Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library will hold a book sale Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 1, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. There will be a variety of hardbacks, paperbacks, videos, DVDs, magazines, office furniture and plenty of other items. Beat the crowds and arrive early. Children's Book WeekChildren's Book Week is May 12-18, and we are celebrating. Our weekly story times will feature Story Art, a wonderful blending of books and related crafts. Come out and join us for the fun at a library near you. No sign-up is required. Greene County Public Library - Wednesday, May 14 Pink Hill Public Library - Thursday, May 15 Bookmark Contest Awards Ceremony The Greene County Friends of the Library will honor the winners of the 2008 Bookmark Contest on Thursday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will be held in the Greene County Complex Meeting Room. Please come and help us celebrate our talented young people. American Girl Mother Daughter Tea Party In celebration of Mother's Day, join us for an afternoon of tea, conversation, and fun on Saturday, May 10, at 4 p.m. in the Children's Theater of the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library. Bring your doll or feel free to come without a doll. Hats are encouraged, and reservations are required. Sign up today by calling 527-7066, Ext. 121. This program is intended for ages 4 to 12.
SCRAPBOOKING Join us on Monday, May 19, at 7 p.m. in the Children's Library of the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library. Scrapbooking is open for all ages. Bring pictures and ideas to share. Sign up by calling 527-7066, Ext. 121. Booktalking The Booktalking group will meet on Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris. When the beautiful and mysterious Vianne movies to Lansquenet and opens a chocolate shop across from the church, the inhabitants of the tiny village find themselves torn between the solemn law of religion and the joyful rewards of Vianne's confections.
