Juneteenth- Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library

Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in June 1865. This year, we will be commemorating the 400th anniversary of this important moment in African American history, and the aim is to educate, elevate, and celebrate.
Hosted by Brenda Stewart, Juneteenth will showcase dances, drumming, and ceremony, as well as a special presentation by David Dennard, the Director of the African and African American Studies Program at East Carolina University.
