Neuse Regional Library Welcomes New Director of Libraries Melanie Morgan

The Neuse Regional Library Board is pleased to announce that Mrs. Melanie Morgan is the new Director of Libraries of the Neuse Regional Library System. Melanie will begin her new position on November 1, 2018. The Neuse Regional Library System’s previous Director of Libraries, Mrs. Agnes Ho, retired effective October 1, 2018 after forty-five years of outstanding service.

Melanie is currently the Library Director of Madison County Public Libraries, Headquartered in Marshall, North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of South Florida. She worked in public libraries in Port Saint John, Florida; Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and Sebastian, Florida before becoming a Media Specialist at an elementary school in Brevard County School system in Palm Bay, Florida. Most recently, during her four years at Madison County Public Libraries, she has overseen a relocation/renovation project, created a literacy initiative, and doubled programming attendance. Her Library recently won the 2018 Library Journal award for Best Small Library in America.

The Neuse Regional Library System’s Boards and staff are looking forward to Melanie’s arrival and working with her to continue providing the best library services possible to our patrons.
