    Reviews the shipwrecks of the tumultuous 20th century, from the unsolved mystery of the Ghost Ship of Diamond Shoals and the carnage wrought by German submarines during two world wars through dramatic US Coast Guard rescues of the 1990’s.

In this tribute to North Carolina, two of its most talented native sons, Charles Kuralt and Loonis McGlohon, travel throughout the state videotaping some of the places they had written about in 1984. Ranging from the grandeur of Grandfather Mountain to the tiny town of Tick Bite, the video celebrates the state’s cities and rivers, crossroads and creeks, and – most importantly – its people.

SISTER BECKY’S BABY:  A NORTH CAROLINA FAIRY TALE (18603)
Color, 41 minutes, NR.  Starring Tolya Adams, Alicia Alexander, and Choci Gray.
A folktale originated by North Carolina slaves, Charles W. Chenutt, one of the first African American authors, preserved it as a short story in the 1890’s.  This play was made in Kinston by the Neuse Community Screen Players.
