Happy 2020! The start of a new year is always a fantastic opportunity to assess where you are in life and plan for where you want to go. Neuse Regional Public Libraries are always here to support your personal growth, whether you’d like to start a new hobby, learn a new skill, save money, or be healthier! The following are just some of the programs being offered at our Libraries in January that will help you meet the goals of your New Year’s resolution and be a better version of yourself over the year to come and beyond!
Financial Workshop – Recovering from the Holidays (Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library)
Did you go over your holiday spending budget this year? Are you hoping to get your finances in order for the year 2020? Come to the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library on January 9 at 6 p.m. to learn the tips and tricks that will help your finances recover from the holiday season, and how to prepare for the year ahead. Lee Albritton from the Self-Help Credit Union will lead the workshop, giving you professional advice to best address your personal needs.

Healthy Recipe Swap! (Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library)
Get your New Year’s resolution to eat healthier started right at the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library on Saturday, January 18 at 3 p.m. with our Healthy Recipe Swap! Discover new recipes to fit your lifestyle, and share them with others! There will be recipe cards available, as well as some of the library’s cookbooks on display for even more ideas! Yo-Chi, (La Grange Public Library)
Yo-Chi is a fusion of Tai Chi and Yoga at a beginner level, combining the world’s two oldest mind-body disciplines to create a unique, effective movement experience. These classes will focus on enhancing stability and mobility to increase overall wellness and practical function both on and off the mat. LaVerne Robinson will be leading this 4 week series which will take place Mondays, Jan. 6, 13, 27 and Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. Registration is required and participants are welcome to bring their own mats. How To Winterize Your Vehicle (Pink Hill Public Library)
This program will take place on January 14 th at 4 p.m. and will teach participants how to prepare their car for winter conditions. Danny Humphrey, an avid car enthusiast with 40 + years of car maintenance experience, will demonstrate cold weather vehicle care. This will include proper tire pressure for winter and varying road conditions, how to check tires for improper wear, and how to monitor oil, transmission, antifreeze, and wiper fluids. Learn About Morse Code (Comfort Public Library)
Come celebrate National Morse Code Day at the Comfort Public Library on January 11 th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Learn the history of Morse code and use it to write your name and other short sentences. Sketching for Beginners Series (Greene County Public Library)
If you ever wanted to learn how to sketch, here’s your opportunity! Lessons will include stroke types, body composition, shading, landscapes and more! This series will take place at the Greene County Public
