world book night 2012

Neuse Regional Library participates in World Book Night

On April 23, the Neuse Regional Library System participated in World Book Night by distributing free books to the public outside Walmart Supercenter in Kinston.  Pictured above is Rita Payton (left) receiving a free copy of The Poisonwood Bible from Amber Hargett, Head of Children’s Services (right).  World Book Night U.S. is an ambitious campaign to personally give out thousands of free, specially printed books across America on April 23.  Librarians and volunteer book lovers helped promote reading by going into their communities and handing out free copies of books.  For more information about Library programming, please call 252-527-7066, Ext. 120.
