The Blog

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) selects summer reading program themes years in advance. Little did the selection committee know what the year 2020 would bring when they picked Imagine Your Story for the 2020 summer reading theme. As things change, the Neuse Regional Libraries must adapt, and we have yet again re-imagined our summer offerings.

The good news is the Summer Reading Program is still happening for children and teens; however, it will be a slightly different this year, with a four week program instead of the originally planned seven week program. Registration for both programs is now open. Upon completing the registration form and liability waiver, your child will receive a Summer Reading Booklet filled with a reading log, schedule of events, and challenge cards with activities they can complete at home or in the Library. Participants earn small prizes for completed reading logs and challenge cards as well as tickets to be entered into drawings for one of our grand prize packs. Every participant is encouraged to read at least 10 hours this summer.
