Remembering the Life Works of Clementine Hunter
In honor of Black History month local artist Kelly Lewis will lead a kid’s paint event in which children will create their own rendition of a Clementine Hunter work on Saturday, February 15 at 2 p.m. Clementine Hunter was an African American Folk artist who has become one of the most well-known self-taught artists. Painting from memory, she is credited as a social and cultural historian for her documentation of Southern life in the early 20th century.
