Wellness for Kids Series

Families are welcome to join us for Wellness Wednesdays, where guest presenters will demonstrate healthy food preparation, physical wellness, and mindfulness activities. This series theme is “Wellness Comes in Many Colors” to encourage families to practice new mindfulness activities. Recommended for ages 12 and under. Registration is required due to limited spaces. 

 

Wednesday, March 6 from 4:30 – 5:30: First installment of the Wellness for Kids Series, a month-long program to encourage health and wellness initiatives to children under twelve.  Roxanne Jones of the PHWEC will lead children through various activities to get their bodies up and moving in the upcoming warmer months. 

 

Wednesday, March 13 from 4:30 – 5:30: Second installment of the Wellness for Kids Series, a month-long program to encourage health and wellness initiatives to children under twelve.  Kelly Tyndall of the Lenoir County Cooperative Extension will lead children through a program featuring colorful recipes that make vegetables less intimidating and provide high protein, such as Dr. Seuss Lorax Pasta and Green Eggs.

Wednesday, March 20 from 4:30 – 5:30: Final installment of the Wellness for Kids Series, a month-long program to encourage health and wellness initiatives to children under twelve.  Paige Petticrew of the Lenoir County Cooperative Extension will lead a program focused on square foot gardening and how maintaining plants can be beneficial for health.
